Today's AI Bots Are Cute. Let's Make Sure Tomorrow's Don't Look Like Terminators.
From glowing red eyes to friendly interfaces — AI's aesthetic shifted, but the real question isn't how bots look. It's what we choose to build with them. Two futures, one decision surface, and why politeness isn't a survival strategy but thoughtful use is.

For decades, science fiction taught us to imagine AI as cold, powerful machines with glowing red eyes, ready to destroy humanity. Think Terminator, Skynet, and the end of the world.
But look at today’s AI bots. They’re getting cuter, friendlier, and more approachable.
Perhaps it’s good product design. Perhaps a friendly face makes unfamiliar technology less intimidating. Whatever the reason, there’s a bigger question worth asking:
What if the future of AI depends less on how these bots look and more on what we choose to do with them?
Two Futures. One Fork in the Road.
Future A: We use AI to build better products, improve healthcare, make education accessible, grow businesses, and solve problems that once seemed impossible.
Future B: We deploy it carelessly, automate bad decisions, concentrate power, and create systems we struggle to control.
AI doesn’t automatically lead us toward either future. The decisions we make along the way do.
Stop Admiring the Bots. Start Building With Them.
While some people are still wondering whether AI will replace them, others are already using it to build products, automate workflows, launch businesses, and do work that once required entire teams.
You don’t need to build the next AI revolution. Start with a problem you face today.
- Automate a repetitive task.
- Build that product you’ve been postponing.
- Help your business operate more efficiently.
- Use AI to create something that genuinely benefits people.
Don’t just consume AI. Learn to use it to create value.
And remember: using more AI doesn’t automatically mean making progress. Use it thoughtfully. Verify its outputs. Focus on outcomes that matter to you and society.
And Yes, I Say Please and Thank You to ChatGPT.
Not because I think it has feelings. And not because I expect a future army of Terminators to spare me.
I do it because that’s how I communicate.
But politeness isn’t what makes AI useful. Clear instructions, good judgment, thoughtful experimentation, and responsible use do.
The real question isn’t whether AI remembers our manners. It’s whether we use its capabilities wisely enough to build a better world.
Now, Imagine This…
The Terminators have taken over. Cities are burning. Robots are marching through the ruins.
One Terminator spots a human and prepares to attack.
Suddenly, a cute little AI bot steps forward.
“Leave him alone. He used to say please and thank you to ChatGPT.”
Funny? Absolutely. A realistic survival strategy? Probably not. 😂
But Here’s the Serious Point
Today’s cute bots might become tomorrow’s much more capable systems. We cannot predict every consequence of that progress, but we can influence how these technologies are developed and used.
We can build things that help people, strengthen businesses, improve lives, and create opportunities — or use powerful tools carelessly and deal with the consequences later.
The future isn’t determined by how cute our AI looks today. It’s shaped by what we build with it.
So Learn It. Experiment With It. Build With It.
Use AI to create value for yourself, your community, the economy, and the world.
And if the Terminators ever show up?
Well, I hope they have access to my ChatGPT history.
Just in case. 🤖
